The
inn welcomes you to take in the beauty of Pamlico Sound from our numerous
decks, porches, docks, gardens and rooms. Watch the egrets, herons, ospreys,
and dozens of other bird species with whom we share the waters of our
island. Walk our docks, and see the skates, crabs, mullet, flounder, and other
creatures of the sound swim beneath you.
Leave
your beach chairs and beach towels at home; we have plenty for your use
as you enjoy the pristine beaches of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore.
Go for a leisurely paddle in the kayaks provided for the use of our
guests, or tour the island on our "beach cruisers" or 21 speed mountain
bikes. Swim in our pool overlooking the water. Experience the glorious
sunsets over the sound.
Help yourself to our baked goods and fresh beverage
service in the afternoon. Enjoy the stocked guest beverage refrigerators,
snack baskets, candy and chocolates located conveniently throughout the
inn.
Enjoy
our state of the art 14 seat home theater. All rooms also have large televisions
with DVD and VCR. Choose from our collection of over 1,600 films on DVD,
or watch your favorite team in high definition (theater only). Take a book
from our library. Lose yourself reading on our back porch hammock chair or
nap in one of our hammocks. Worry not about hidden costs; all of these amenities
are provided for our guests for no additional charge.
Take
advantage of our soundfront location, and windsurf or kiteboard right from
our dock or off our point. For the experienced, we provide an equipment storage
area. For those interested in their first kiteboarding experience, we can
arrange for lessons right from our location, or help you arrange for lessons
at windsurfing or kiteboarding camps offered around the island.
Relax on an
evening cruise or a day of fishing with the captains that charter from
our dock or from the island marinas. Lessons and charters are not included
in your room rates, but are usually offered by captains and instructors at preferential rates for our guests.
